ok, here\'s an ork i. i was going for deathskulls but realised with his cyber face that painting half his face blue wouldnt work so i used blue as the spot colour instead. tons of freehand on the scavanged bits of metal (tau, chaos, ultramarines, dark angels, and blood angels) but you cant see most of it. the photos aint right but pretty close.
now to wrap him up for christmas for my wifes nephew.
thought i would ask for your opinions as i feel he\'s a step up (small but a step nonetheless) on my usual standard

I know I sound like a broken record but what did you use to make the base? lol

I voted him a 9. The skin looks excellent and yes I think the base rocks :D

cheers guys
@tim, they are bigger but always bloody shrunk by photobucket!!

the base is a mainly a wine cork - sliced then roughed up a bit. the reed bar is just some thin wire, the pipe is the end of one of those brush protector thiinngs (you know those see through little tubes).
the light green foliage is some kind od moss and the other foliage that looks like rushes are another type of moss. both dipped in glycerin to keep minty fresh

Back when I was a staffer for GW, I had a helmet spike stick in my finger and snap off. An Orky splinter! It was a bugger to shift too, war is pain!

C&C done, good work Brett!

Nice !! Love the colors, especially the blue on that banner thingy for some reason.... :p

I\'ll second the requests for bigger pics though !!

Cheers.

actually come to think of it, would you mind sharing the recipe for the skin? I\'m painting an ork in the next few weeks and would love to do something similar

Thanks, James

He\'s a handsom devil.

I like the idea of using looted bits of other races, and showing that in your color scheme.

I\'ll be doing the same when I put together my Battle Wagon.

Beautiful base too!
