Borka Kegslayer WIP

So, I\'ve gotten hired to paint again. Yay me!
And this is the first of 6 minis in the work.
He still needs his keg painted and attached, darklining, varnish and basing.

Any suggestions before I get to those things? And don\'t suggest changing to
NMM, because I still suck at that.

I love Borka and all the Trollblood models!

One thing I notice for this WIP is the metals aren\'t \'popping\' out. They look nicely shaded but could use a SMALL touch of silver (boltgun thru mithril) on the highlight spots to really bring them out.

I like the skin since it\'s different from the usually trollblood colours

I actually did use mithril silver to finish the highlights. Maybe I used a bit too much
\'Smoke\' and hid it again... I\'ll see if I can\'t re-touch that a bit.

I think this is definately going to come together once it has some darklining added, but I also feel that a little more work on the final highlights would be of benefit too. Just a few more levels of relatively small spot highlights on the skin and metal will make it pop a lot more.

All righty. I\'ve followed the suggestions made, but I don\'t think my photography
shows it well enough.... *sigh*

Anyway... Keg painted. Highlights enhanced. Darklining done with great
care, because I\'m not very good at it. I kept it on the light side of brown, for the
most part, for fear of ruining the rest with something too dark to fix.

He\'s got one coat of Liquitex Dullcote, right now, and will get two coats of
Testor\'s before I consider him thoroughly finished.

Have to be honest, I can\'t really tell any difference between the earlier shots and the most recent ones (other than the base being done) so perhaps it is due to photography letting it down.

Perhaps take a break from painting and spend some time in the photography forums, then refine your setup? Or, if you have a scanner, scan it in. I\'ve been having to do this recently as I have no digital camera to use. It gives almost no depth of field and can overexpose things a bit, but for something in a flat pose like this mini it would definately work as a good way to get a high res, detailed image for people to look at.

Have no scanner, and no space for a better setup for taking the pics.
Two people crammed in a bachelor sized apartment, and way too much stuff.
Plus, I\'ve just never been a good photographer.
I\'m usually impressed that my finger isn\'t in the shot.
