What kind if resin did you use for the water and where did you purchase it? Also, how did you go about tinting the color of it? Thanks!
I bought the resin on Taobao (chinese ebay). It is the biggest online market in China, millions of transaction per day but you can find nearly everything. For the hobby it is really great! I paid the resin less than 3USD for 250ml.
The problem is I don't know which type of resin it is I just have a number. I have tried several and this one was the only one not getting yellow after few days.
I have not tinted it, actually, I was planning to do it... and... I ... simply forgot it in the excitement to pour the resin in the mould and see the result.
Oh my word, incredible. Same questions from me as BoK.
I never knew about polishing paste but is something I'm eager to try.
Holy wow that came out great...and same questio as BFK and gandalf![]()
Demi I heard start out with a rough grit and move progressively to a finer, 1000 or so grit paper. And people I know if do it by hand.
Yes I tried with sand paper, starting with 1000, with some water to smooth it out, then up to 2000, but the surface was not smooth, it was slightly better but sill had marks from the casing, like white foggy marks. It was still ok to let it go but I wanted to try out something and I remembered about the cheap dremmel copy I bought, so I tried to polish it just with the buffing wheel, not much difference... then I saw that there was a paste together, tried it out and in less than 2min the base was clear like water!
Use the buffing wheel, NOT the grinding stone! Lol![]()
