I use cotton. Before you put in on dip it in watered down white glue and let it dry. Use an old paint brush to smooth out any loose threads. It will hold paint really well. You could also use wire like that you get in bag ties. Good luck they can be a pain when you are doing heaps of them.

I use a very fine bead wire. You can find it in any shop that sells beads and sewing material or arts and crafts stuff. It comes in metal colors. I\'m leaving it gold for my High Elves.
For the Bolt Throwers I took 3 or 4 strands and braided it but you can also buy pre-braided wire at the same place.
The variety is amazing actually, and it\'s cheap.
Nice article by the way. Unfortunately it doesn\'t help me as my elves are plastic and my efforts to reposition the bows just ended up with broken bows.

I have often thought that hair would make a good bowstring. I have a couple of minis I may try it on.

I saw this great article to drill through the hand and string then drill a hole between the two fingers and place a paper clip an arrows length long I will try to scan or locate it. I grabbed my eye. I ll be back as soon as I can find\'

On Iridril, a hole was drill in each end, but not all the way through. I then completed the hole with a much smaller bit. The hair was two strands tied off at one end and threaded through. Carefully bending the bow the other end had the hair threaded through and it was tied off as well. When I bent the bow back it made the string taught and it was again secured with glue. A few stripes of tan paint later my bowstring was finished.
