Brass Etch Leaves

I\'ve finally started my wood elf army, and have decided to use brass etch leaves on my dryads, three different types so that I can distingush between three units.

I\'ve just had a go at putting a some brass etch on the first one I\'ve assembled:

Looks fine from a distance, but up close it looks pap :(

Help!!! How should I be attatching this stuff onto my mini?

Cover the end bit with glue or even GS. Or cut the straight bit out and just use individual leaves. So where do you get these leaves from then ?

Make a small cut on the plastic first, superglue, and then use a small amount of GS or BS to cover the area. Should hold pretty well. :)

@ogrebane, it is scale link that produces these sheets. hasslefree cut them up into smaller (more affordable) sections. (thanks sally:) )

ask at your local model shop if they are able to order scale link stuff for you.

Have had loads of trouble finding brass etched stuff. I live in a small town in OZ and they just dont get all that much stuff (except for model trains). I will continue my search. I tried ordering stuff from mick but customs seized it (Probably thought it was weed)

Might have a go at ordering this stuff online.

I\'ll give it a go with GS on the end then. It also dawned that I should be gluing the metal bit on the top of the branch, rather than the side - doh!!!

I bought mine from Scalelink, came in a regular envelope with a bit of stiff card in it. I\'m not sure how vigourous customs are when it comes to regular \'letter\' post? I\'ve a mate that\'s ebayed mini\'s all over the world, so will quiz him.

Once you\'ve got it attached in a way that suits you, it\'ll help a lot if you play around with the leaves, bending and shaping them and so on, it\'ll really make it look a lot more natural. I found needle nose style tweezers helpful for that.

Ok, I think that I\'ve managed to get a handle onto how this stuff works now.

The above might be of use to anybody who wants to do this in the future (I\'m a fan of passing on learning!)
