i own a braugh slavelord model, and i was wondering if i painted it to the best of my abiities would it increase it\'s value or not ?
I have seen one on ebay going for £750!!!! unpainted.

what do you guys/gals think?

And no if its collectable as an unpainted model.. the collectors that go after that sort of thing tend to think its worth less once painted.

You might wish yo check out the Yahoo group on collecting Citadel Miniatures. Almost all the guys who collect this stuff hang out there http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CollectingCitadelMiniatures/

Just be careful some are very \"Cheap\" and will try to talk you out of things for nothing..

It was a very limited edition release to GW store managers when the Ogre Kingdoms book was released.

Unfortunately I saw what a certain manager who will remain nameless did to his..... I swear some people shouldn\'t be allowed to have hands :no:

These used to fetch between £200-250. However the last one on ebay went for around the £100 mark, which was low for a very limited edition figure in the collectors market. I think most of the big collectors have one & now its down to the Ogre fans! And yes I do have one, but it was given to me:beer:

I wonder how many of these things eventually get recast. As much as it would be really cool to own something like this I could never afford to pay that kind of price for one.

Actually not that I couldnt afford it..I just wouldnt pay that much for one.

by recast do you mean forged?
because the moulds for these are destroyed after the first batch.(or so we\'re told)

thers no forgeing involved.. but yes I mean remolded by somone else than GW, cast and then sold as origionals. Molding and casting miniatures is easy and theres lots of equipment out there. Its more common than you think. Right now the largest counterfiters of GW miniatures are in South America and sell on eBay most of the time as painted models.
