Like a bloody von Carnstein, I have returned to modeling after more years away that I can count.

More importantly I have a camera allowing me to post my work! A crap camera perhaps, but a
camera nontheless. So 'ere we go....

This here's my Dragon from the Alaric Box set that I'm trying to customize for VC. I've since
added some heads and torsos, as well as some bells to the wings and skeleton banners
to some horns. I'll show the modified version later on.

These are converted cultist champions from Dark Vengeance. I primed the models before
I even knew I'd have a camera. But if you've seen the models, the conversions should still
be pretty obvious.

I don't even know why I got this damn thing. It sure wasn't to make my life easier....

You might want to scale the pics down, too. Those are quite large.

I've never seen the last one, so it should be interesting to see how it turns out.

That's a good first step. Welcome back. I just came back myself after a decade long hiatus, so I have an idea of how you feel.

Hey look forward to seeing your models painted up. When stuff is in progress people just usually attach photos directly in here for viewing. If you use the "Advanced Mode" to make your post you can add attachments directly to your post. People use the gallery feature for final pictures for voting. Plus the gallery pictures take time to be reviewed and okayed by mods. Attached photos can be added straight away.

There should be a forum section for people like us who take an extended break from modelling/painting then dip our toes back in, tentatively lol. Although I only had a 2 year gap (although for a good few years before that there wasn't really a lot going on either to be honest) it still feels like ages, and I'm slowly getting back into it again. Like you I thought a WIP would help me (or force me) into being a bit more active. Good luck with yours, I look forward to seeing how you get on!

My next tip would be to eliminate the shadows from your photos. In all honesty really cannot see a lot at the moment. Head over to this thread and look at the photo... http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?48504-10-balls-WIP/page50 This shows the model off very nicely and you can appreciate the paint job quite easily. My advice would be to make sure you have good ambient light when you take the photos, put them somewhere where the light is evenly hitting it, use a lamp or the 3 lamp trick to light the photos as well if needs be. Mini photography is quite hard, but quite necessary to master in this hobby! If you check out the articles there are plenty on this topic and quite a few threads as well, plenty of people here to ask specific questions to as well.

I did; the Hexwraiths I worked on from 11 to 3 am,
then still had to finish in the morning, The Vargeists
(sp?) took a little less time, maybe three hours.
