Nicely painted, solid mid-8 for me.

You have a nice \'artistic\' painting style but the weathering at the bottom of the coat looks like oil stains; given how dusty north Africa is, and the nature of how the LRDG worked, I think this could do with being a lot dustier.

Similar thing with the Thompson, which looks like it\'s straight from the factory - no dust, no scratches or wear to the finish.

Supurb figure 9.5 for me!

If anyone has ever been out to the Western Desert they would find that it is not nice soft dusty sand but gritty hard rocks. Anyone travelling in an open Jeep or LRDG truck would be covered in oil and crap from the engine.

Just my opinion.

The oils effect is like Neil say. They travelt in jeeps with a lot of crap and oils, it was the effect i was looking for :)

lol Nice work - you made his face very expressive, and the trousers are really good. Some of the blends could do with being a little smoother though (eg. the belt and under his arms), looking at the big images.

yes, i dont like oversize 5Xsize a miniature because in my opinion when i paint something i try do the right effect for scale. Oversize is good for see if the texture is right for example. Im gonna work in the tompson and blue jersey with some dry effect :)

Clean, yes, but I do think it needs a little more weathering to tie into the theme. It looks like it hasn\'t seen much action compared to the man holding it. I\'d put more knocks and scrapes into it, especially around the removable parts and the clip.

But this is a top notch 9/10 work for me. So much character in the model, I love it! To put it into super champion range I would act on the weathering advice and then call it done.

Nope! Allways referred to in military terms as LRDG, the Patrol was dropped out of the unit name very early on.

I have been to Siwa where they operated from early on and its bl***y hot there!

To get an idea of the colours of a Thompson look at this site

Although the figure is holding the early version with fore pistol grip and 50 round drum mag. Its a good site to get the actual colours of weapons.

I\'m sure there was no \'patrol\' in the name, it was just LRDG.

Superb figure. My only comment would be about the \'too new\' look of the woodwork on the gun.

thats the problem with historical minis, sometimes you look for information in internet and may be wrong, and im far to be an expert in history from this period hehe so all comments about mistake sin colours are welcomes friends ^^
