I have always been a fan of minis with brobdingnagian weapons and this mini does not disappoint. The details in the gun are really well done and I like that the mini has an antique style to it. Looks very renaissance. Great work!

....just a quick one to say thanks all for the kind words, and a quick thanks to Alex for putting the pics up before I could ;-)

I think it\'s gonna take a few weeks for it to sink in...

I also have to echo what I said over on the Platoon forums.... I genuinely only think this was possible because of Platoon Britannica and the awesome little community we\'ve built up, and the fact that everyone on there is willing to give critique and advice to absolutely anyone and share their work and skills openly.

Oh, and the \'stage sword\' they give you on stage is, I think, moderately sharp... the one you actually get to keep is blunt.

Just waiting for the awful photos of some fat beardy bloke standing on stage holding the sword up a-la-He-man and screaming a lot to start surfacing :-S

Anyway, cheers all!

Ben

PS: Suppose I\'d better actually put the mini up on my gallery hadn\'t I? And watch it get a 6.4 ;-)

\'We Love you Ben\'
Absolutly superb M8, you totally deserve it Ben, a fantastic mini, beautifully painted.
Congrats to ALL the PB members who placed (very nearly a clean sweep), You are all deserved winners. Best GD I have been to, and what a great sense of \'community\' and \'friendship\' Ben and his team have brought to all us British painters who have joined PB, so well done on that Ben & co. Roll on the PB invasion of Europe...

Well done :) Admitidly from where I was stood all I saw on the screen was somewhat blurred and all I could hear was \"mumble mumble mumble BEN!!!\".

The chap who won the Gold LotR was on the coach from Swindon - verrrrry nice model that was.

Exquisite, well deserved. Congratulations.

...and likewise congratulations to you mate, seeing the marine in the flesh was one of the (non sword related) highlights of my day :)

Attention to detail is something else. One of the most exacting miniatures I\'ve seen.

Great to see a Brit win the big prize too...

Brushlicker and Freak!
Great work, amazing attention to detail.

There are a couple of things I don\'t get though. Why does a clockmaker have a huge gun? Why is he standing on a pile of books? It doesn\'t make any sense to me, if he was holding a large clock, the whole thing would make sense, but at the moment I feel I\'m missing something...

Anyway, don\'t mind my ramblings. Its a great mini and WON YOU THE SWORD!!! :D

Congratulations Ben!!!!

I have been following you since some time ago dude... your attention to detail and smoothness are out of this world.... awesome, and really deserved!!

PS. Btw... what the heck is this of the mock sword in stage? The one that cut my finger off was the one currently hanging from my wall lol

lol

Btw... i couldn\'t come since I am living in Japan now.... but make sure I\'ll make my return next year

CONGRATS AGAIN!!!!!

...he he he :)

And there was me kinda joking :)

I suppose I\'d better take some proper photos of the damn thing before it really DOES get down to 6.4 :)

Gotta love CMON :)
