@Airhead: Well if you want to be picky then...
By landmark I meant like a booth, or no man\'s land with barbed wires, and a few guards with rifles... or whatever it looks like, haven\'t been to Iran yet. It\'s possible to forget you are at 134.6n 128.2e in the midst of an operation, or ignore it.
I am not in the oil business, meaning I don\'t really care where the oil I use comes from, I don\'t buy and sell barrels of oil, and I get no interest in the oil corporations, and I am surely not commanding the invasion of other countries to insure I get more oil.
So we got to invade other countries for our \"free world\" to continue functionning, ah. Maybe we made some mistakes in the way we planned things.
Ah, no, god has given occidentals the earth to use as they please, I forgot that, sorry. So I guess nobody can say anything about that, your doing god\'s work over there...
As far as I know, there are no Iranian members on this site to provide a good balance for this argument, just a bunch of self-righteous americans or brits that have been taught to hate people
they don\'t know. Only thing I know, is that Iran would be far more of an adversary than Iraq, and maybe all coalition countries would finally remember what a war really is and what mess they got us into.
And before the argument is brought up. I am aware than canada is not at all better, and I can rant about it plenty myself.
Now the argument nobody wants to hear or say:
And as for the soldiers, they\'re soldiers right, part of the military, trained and paid for operation, and maybe face a little danger, who knows; it\'s war, they\'re soldiers. I wouldn\'t go to the area with a gun strapped to my back without expecting some people to get angry at me. If we are to invade other countries, we are to expect a little pain and blood, and not get overly soft about it. If you don\'t want trouble to happen to you, it\'s a good decision to stand clear of the military. Maybe some people need to read the definition of war, been around for a while and it always ended up with a few people getting hurt.
Don\'t get me wrong, I wish only for them to return safe, but it feels a bit dumb to endorse war on one end, and then get all upset because a bunch of soldiers get hurt or captured.
Now, that\'ll surely get me some friends
Edit: I would like to congratulate both Krom and Skeeve for the interesting, balanced and considerate contrubution to the discussion, sure doing a better job than me here
