Brothers of the Snake. First scratch build/conversion.

Hi CMON

Never posted to a forum before but thought I would like to share my first go at sculpting and converting. I was inspired to build this model after reading the book "Brothers of the snake. Not sure yet on a painting scheme.

Welcome here. Nice first attempt at sculpting and cool project. For the colour scheme, I think you could paint the snake in a dark green colour and the marine in a bright grey to give a great contrast between the two minis.

That's your first go? Blimey, looks ruddy marvellous. The lines raise it above just a decent sculpt-job, the way the base juts from the water, with the blokes spear and curves of the snake all complimenting each other and making an effective frame. Very nice.

i say! good job that man, that serpent looks great. didn't the marines in the book have a little bottle of the water from the sea on their belt? would be a nice little addition. looking it up the armour is " Polished Gun-Metal Grey, gold chest and shoulder pads etched with red and white"

Thanks for the suggestion. I think it would give more detail and individuality to the character. I sculpt one and post it when i have done it.
