brown or grey for shadows?

When You are trying to shade a white cape or piece of clothing do you use white or grey?

it actually depends on the efect you want to achieve. if you use brow the finel result will be a Bone-like piece if you use Grey or better a mix of grey and blue the result will be a very intensive white cloak or whatever.

blues on white. purple on nearly everything eles.
