This comes under the heading of things I wish somebody had told me about sooner. Cant see any previous posts on this topic so I hope I\'m not re-hashing:
If you use expensive brushes (squirrel, sable etc) it pays too look after them. A tip I picked up is to melt soap shavings with water into a jar to make a paste and dip your brushes into it before using them and also after rinsing at the end of a session before you put them away. The coating of soap helps protect them and keep the points.
An alternative is to buy a bar of the gritty paint brush soap sold in art shops and keep it in a covered container so that it stays soft. You can scrub off even quite dried in paint that way.
Just remember not to lick your brushes afterwards!!
