Brutal 3d Arena

Hi All. I've not been around for a bit due to having to spend on certain projects. Thought i'd stepped into the wrong place with all the changes Anyway, recently on my forum a user submitted pics of his own 3d arena. I'm soo impressed with it that i have to share it with you all. I've always wanted to make a resin arena and i think this has prompted me to get one done although i would like to hear your thoughts on it. Do you think such a kit would sell, does it appeal to you and if so how much money would you part with.

Heres pics of Mikes version. I've asked him to make a more refined version of the pieces for me to cast up which I'm excited about

He's also made his own Sentinels!

how about now? I've had to upload them from my PC and make them attachments. I'm not good with code at the best of times and the cmon forum changes have thrown me dragging them from my forum didn't seam to work.

no w it works...
so - if you're planning to sell unpainted parts i guess it's cool, has multiple uses, not only for an arena. i've got no idea about reasonable pricing, as it's country dependant.
but there's one thing about the painting that i'd suggest: shade the blood, make old blood darker, and fresh one more red... and give it a gloss (IMHO)...
still, nice idea for a modular battlefield.

@Wilk yep its not soo much about the paint job but the whole idea of producing a more refined version in resin.

@Vikey thanks although Mike should be credited for this. I'm just sad that he has a better gameboard than me

@ Freak yeah it does have that feel about it.

@cassar Mikes arena is a little larger than the official size making it look a little sparse but don't let that fool ya I've been beaten on 'death by arena' many times. It would be nice to have outside walls which would be the icing on cake but then cost would be a big issue. Correction, the icing on the cake would be to have it lit up with LEDS with vid-screens on each corner *aaahh i can afford to dream a little*

BTW Mike tells me that his version is still a wip paintjob.

resin pieces sound like it would make a complete area abit on the expenecive side. I take it you can have just about any layout that you wish for each fight, so how does something along the lines of stamped pvc or plastic sound? Im thinking whatever it is that "Heroscape" tiles are made of. That way you could go with any layout that you could think of, multiple levels/heights (death from above!) (now with a interlocking vertial and horizantal locking locks!), and have peoples buy a mess of them for larger games, and other games that ae made be a different "unnamed (cough cough) games company. Just a thought.

Other then that I'm digging these, though they do reminded me of the Robo Rally maps.

@ Mud duck I've not thought of PVC for tiles before and plastic pieces would cost an arm and a leg and maybe for the start-up costs Since i do all my resin casting 'in house' that could help me bring the costs down and if need be i could use a filler to lighten the model and cut down on the cost of resin. Although this would be a last resort as I've never used fillers as you can lose detail or even weaken the cast.

@Tim I don't I shall be attending as a trader due to me not having enough products but i might get a trader to stock my stuff at the event. I shall however have another three minis in the next couple of weeks. Then i shall have enough to cover the core classes for the humans. I'd like to that i shall be attending for a game demo but cannot make it official.

Got more pics from Mikes own version of an arena. Looks pretty cool and I'm thinking a refined version of this would be great for making a resin cast version. Anyone have any suggestions on anything that might need changing?
