Hiya Undave was kind enought to pick up this bust for me from a recent trip to Warhammer world (I had to give him the money back though as he\'s not THAT kind!lol ) and I finally made a start on it tonight.

Thos is the first time I have tried something in this scale so I would really appreciate any pointers and feedback.

What scale is it? 1/6?

Iv just recieved Onibakas Celtic Orc bust (Im pretty ure you ordered one aswell) and it\'s huge! Been putting it together today.

The skin is looking really good, I love the reddish hue to the nose. Friggin alchy. lol

Cool!!! I never even knew that he had them cast already! I suppose I\'ll have to give him some money before I get mine won\'t I? lol

as for scale... well... I have no idea!!! I will measure him and let you know how many big in inches he is if that helps (although he is a dwarf who has been on the beer so don\'t expect a whopper!)

1/6 is about 100mm so a dwarf will be about 70mm perhaps?

Yep, its a great bust, very little clean up required aswell, one minor moldline, and a bit of greenstuffing under the arms. Well worth the money, you will be impressed as an Orc fan.

skin tones are just perfect (looks a bit like he has been on the lager and kebab), can\'t figure out if he\'s sleeping or laughing, what do you think?

Cheers guys, he is definatley drunk and not sleepy- its the same pose as the ltd edition Bugmans figure on the barrels. (which Undave was also kind enough to get- keep your eyes peeled for a mini diorama with this guy!)

Size wise he measures 11 cm from the bottom of the resin base to the tip of the helmet horns. Heres a bit more progress...

The beard has just been basecoated, but I am not too happy with the blue shoulders. Was thinking og going Tartan with them- any suggestions?

Also I can\'t decide to do metallics or NMM- I am better with metallics but a large area like this may be a good opportunity to practice NMM.

dave,

im not so sure about the nose myself. it seems to dark. take into accoutn that the nose will most likely be the lightest part of the face and you have a problem there. i think if you lighten it up right at the ball of the nose and a thin line of light going up to the forehead you could get it to \"pop\" some more. another thing to consider is the eyelids. try to show light cascading off of them in the center of each eye lid this will also push them further back on the edges and allow us to see the eyes pop where they need to.

keep it up

:)

with areas this big you have an opportunity to practise both NMM and blending. maby even rust technique?
