The first one looks like the base is something close to Citadel Desert Yellow highlighted up with Kommando Khaki. The second one is more green so maybe rotting flesh is mixed. Thats my best guess.

Looks like he doesn't visit very often (his website is mostly sci-fi vehicles). However, a little searching and here's the formula on his blog!

Scale120.com (Lin.k's blog)

No handbrushing the base this time, Mr. Color Gloss Black base and then the Mr. Color and Gaia Notes Dark Yellow and Middlestone mix for the main color, adding in white and yellow for the highlights. Weathered with Oils, Vallejo Acrylics and Humbrol enamels. Chips are done in 3 stages with the lightest color a mix of Vallejo Dark Sand and Lemon Yellow, medium chips with Vallejo Chocolate Brown and the deepest and darkest chips with Humbrol Matt Black. No real reason for changing to Humrol except that I wanted to use it for something different but it is handy if you want to wipe it off as the thinner doesn’t harm the underlying acrylics at all.

Hi meanmuttley, thanks for the interest and really sorry about not replying/getting the PM. Need to check my settings! PegaZus is right, I don't get to visit here as much as I would like, for the main part I do different genre vehicles and can't get back to wargaming minis much, but still have a special place for them of course. They are so cool.

Anyway, the facts!!

Piranha - is a custom mix of Tamiya paints through an airbrush. I'm pretty sure "Buff" was the main ingredient, but it looks like I might have mixed some orange in to improve the color.

Devilfish - the main color is by Gaia Notes and is "Dark Yellow #2". It's a mix though, with the sides being browns and the top yellows and whites.

Best thing to do it eyeball it and have fun. The more colors you use and the more differences you make, the more interesting your minis will be.

Hope that helps, best way to get me is via the email on my site there.

Cheers,

Linc
