Building a workspace

Thanks timewizard!

I'm planning to add some sort of cabinet in the remaining wall space, and then likely a paint station after that. Although now that the area is usable, admittedly my progress has slowed down :p

Also, thought I'd show the wall hanging system I'm using. The shelves are held on via french cleats. It's a nice way of hanging shelving and allows them to be easily removed, since they're not permanently fixed to the wall.

Now if I'd done some better planning, I could have affixed a single long cleat to the wall, which would have allowed me to rearrange shelves however I wanted. But I didn't think quite that far ahead...

It looks like all is not lost. You only need to raise the one short cleat about an inch or so.

And the pegboard could be attached to a cleat that would match the other cleats on the shelves.

Then you could reposition at will.

Looks to be a fairly quick and east fix.

Unfortunately I'd also have to change the position of the cleats on the shelves. But those are glued on and I'm afraid to try to take them off without damaging the plywood backing...

Ouch! Yeah, that would make it a non-simple fix.

I can understand gluing the cleats on the shelves too, necessary for the extra strength needed for hanging the shelves.

Still a great system, giving me more than a few good ideas!
