Ever since I saw the sculptures of Allan Carrasco I wanted to make myself a minotaur sculpt just like his.
Here's the progress so far:

You're off to a good start. The expression on his face seems to be telling me: "What are you looking at?? Want some of this?" :)

Cheers!

Looks great! Although, I hope that the "sticks" will be replaced with something else? Right now, I can't imagine it being "weapons", since his fists are way bulkier and would do more crushing damage than those tiny items! :D

If your big scale orc is anything to go by......this is going to be downright effing SICK! Loved that orc, can't wait to see this one progress.....

Thanks guys for the comments!
@freakinacage I was aiming for a human look.Sort of... :)
@Chrome :D
@grefven I'm going to add metal parts at the end. ;)

To me it's way better than the ork. I just love the way it turned out...but then again...I just had great inspiration too. :D

Don't know if I'll cast him. I barely have the time to work on in on weekends. I plan a big career change so ...

I wouldn't mess with that nose at all. It's a Bull-human mix, that gives him a very humanesque (yet animal) look.

Really well done. What material do you use for sculpting?

Thanks!I used only fimo.

Here's a small update: ears, new hooves, the base and some other things...
Really don't like the veins, I think I'll have to remake them.

The weapons are longer now. I'm pretty satisfied so I decided to let them stay this way.
Here's some color. The base is painted with oils, the bull is airbrushed with enamels and acrylics.
Hope you like it...

he's looking awesome, still not keen on the nose though. and the legs sort of merge into the hooves... the base is spot on though and the skin is nice and smooth

Here's some huge update since the last one.
Used only oil colors...besides the base flesh.
More scratches soon.

thats really cool man, skillz! personally, about the paintjob, id like some more contrast. damn i need to tryout oil colours on minis (just bought a set of paints)
only thing i dont like is the eyes and absence of a cool grimace, which imo make him lack some personality. but ace sculptjob non the less of course. cant wait for the next creature!

I feel I should be brutally honest here. That is one of the most impressive minis I have ever seen, the sculpt work is great, the painting is amazing, and the base looks real. I rarely give 10s on CMoN, but I think this mini will get a 10, from me anyway. I think the weapons are the perfect size, if they were bigger they would look odd, right now he looks like an immense creature that is using human sized great weapons that he picked up from slain human invaders. He looks like he is protecting his home with the weapons of the "Monster-hunting humans." Great piece.

Of course I may be making up my own back story for the big guy...

Thanks guys!
Really glad you like it.

I'm so tired of this project and decided to finish it. Here it goes... Will come back tomorrow with details about it. It's kind of late here.

@SkelettetS

I would try to add more contrast but I'm not so confident. Maybe in time...
So far I've painted using only oils(airbrushing some acrylic base paint doesn't count) and I love it. One thing I just don't like, and it's not the drying time :freaked-out: of 1 week or so. When adding multiple layers upon other multiple layers(like I always do :thinking:) the paint becomes thick...too thick.

@MightyChad
Actually I lengthen the weapons by 1 inch. And now, I also think they're perfect at this size. Don't like huge weapons...it's just not in me. And btw... he'll swing them faster if they're smaller. And I think he just did a couple of swings...

For the blood and gore I used tamiya clear red mixed with a transparent rubber like glue.
