yeah i havent finnished that! oops forgot to say same with the eye's and teeth:)

i was going to cut it off before painting it but i think it helps the balance with the mask

Thanks for the comment , im a metallica fan but You most probably guessed that :) ! i will be adding some tutorial video's soon so i you want you can subscribe, im planning on doing video's on blending, sculpting and other stuff

btw,what are you going to do with the marine?will it be a golden demon entry?

The way the colors and blends are coming out so far i would only suggest that you enter it in a Golden Deamon comp.
The work so far is very good the color and the icon and pose is great so give it a try I think you would be able to place...

have to agree.

the mini and the base are not overloaded so far and it looks like it will have a lot of atmosphere.

most of the golden demon entries are way over the top.too many conversions,too many different painting techniques(thou the sword winninf mazdamundi was sick).

less is more for a golden demon entry(imo) and if you can create a mini with great atmosphere and epicness with a simple base its much better i think.
(thou build in speakers that play orion would be awesome XD)

ahhrrgg ,,, having some problems painting the mask, blending wasnt going well but i think iv got it now i hope!

il upload a picture soon, i wish i could update the thread more oftern but i run my own business and only get any painting time in the evening

I remember seeing this when you were just starting this thread, and then forgot where the thread was. All I can say is WOW!

Really love the conversion and the paint job. I'm really looking forward to seeing this completed.

I think the bone mask is excellent.

That's looking really nice BuzZin, good work. I seem to remember prefering the idea of the mask in metal but it looks great in bone. I'm converted!

Just started the banner so the pic is a bit ruff but you get the idea, im just a bit stuck on what color to use in the background :) i think im goin to use a red to black gradient. welcome to comments

Been silently watching this thread in anticipation, looking brilliant so far =)

It's hard to say what colour to go for, initially I thought Purple, or a dark purple. Then I thought it'd add to the confusion of it looking chaosy. Also that the dark green of the snakes might get lost.. was thinking the same about black too. I reckon if you have a primary black colour with an aura of red around the emblem it would preserve detail and look pretty cool, the red would bring out the green and keep the focus I reckon. Or even an aua of yellow fading to black would be better. Albeit a lot more challenging ;)
Hope in the darkness and all that jazz.

ED: In fact, thinking on it, the aura idea would also work in relation to the chapter symbol. Just more symbolic instead of purely iconic.

im goin to try a white outer glow and then yellow to orange to black gradent, first thing to do is clean up the the lines and then do the back ground. im going to try and add black dimonds on the snakes... wish me luck :)

If the orange to black gradient is slight, but enough to help the transition from yellow it'll work beautifully I reckon. Don't want it to look too "Legion of the Damned" with all the scully iconography ;)
Great idea though, gl with the fine detail and I hope you have a steady hand for the job =P
I reckon the spiked out aura idea would look great (think classic sun style aura) Also probably easier to deal with in the gradient blending stakes.

at least you got sense enough to take a break with a detail not turning out exactly as you want. i can sit for hours in pain never surrendering whit details that can take two minutes if i take a break until nex day. i think you have something great comming along here, cant wait to see the finished marine. and normally i dont even like marines...
