I think just saying wow would be an understatement. I utterly love this mini and the face really attracts my attention(as it should). I look forward to seeing this progrees.

Thanks for all of your great comments :)

do you think i should try and do a heavy weatherd affect like Sebastian Archer's nurgle marine? or should i try a light weatherd look? i realy like that type of look but im unsure if it would work with my marine.

I must say I really, really like that clean look you have at the moment, in my mind heavy weathering would just cover and perhaps even destroy all that work. I'd say a very light weathering if any... Yep, that's my vote!

Seconded.
The mini is really awesome now, and yeah, as he said, weathering would probably only take away from that. And someone out there has to have either a really new armor or be a perfectionist and at the same time have been lucky enough never to get shot, right?:p

have to agree with the others.

some slight weathering(shoes, end of the hammer thats on the ground) is the best you can do i think and then go crazy with the weathering on the terminator armor.

btw, will you add a glow effect to the plasma?

Yeah only a bit tho just on the pistol itself.

with the weathering im goin to do a little but il paint it clean first maby and then post the pics and see if every1 likes it, but i do like a slight weatherd look so i will maby just use some rust in areas

The other thing is im split between painting the skull on his chest bone or metal, im thinking bone because it will go with the mask but metal will add more contrast.

Im Back! lol sorry for no update for a wile, i had a small accident, i knocked him over and as he fell in slow-motion ... i dived to catch him, i saw him hit the deck and my hart nearly stopped as his right arm came loose ..... need i say any more.

iv been working on re-pinning him and re-sculpted his under arm thankfully all has gone well and hes all fixed up!

im just about to paint the sheild on his sholder, i think im going to paint it white with his rank symbol on top but iv lost my white dwarf that explains the ranks and stuff so can anyone shed any light on the number / symbol of a top ranked commander?

glad i could help.

btw:as the marine is a top ranked commander he can probably choose his personal insignia(more or less).

i guess it depends on how close the sons of medusa are to the codex astartes.

thats one of the reasons why i like space wolves.you can use any insignias you want(well,at least if its related to wolves somehow ^^)

This really is an awesome conversion/sculpting job and when painted it really blows me away. So smooth yet really nice depth in everything. I can't believe how real it looks and the face and mask are so characterful.

I'll follow this thread to the end (and hope for more updates soon :D).

This marine is really good, as for the sculpting than for the painting. My only crit is that I think you could make him dirtier, add some weathering perhaps.
