hey guys,
i thought it was time i tried to do a wip and stick to it. im looking for some constructive critcism and comments (also advice would be lovely). btw, only the left leg has bin done so far

Well as it is only the left leg I can say it looks good so far and promises to be a very nice piece. I wonder tho if maybe you should go for more highlights to give it greater contrast. Its hard to say till you get further down the track. The gold tho I think should have more highlight.

i saw this and thought \'what a loaad of crap\'. then i realised you had only finished theleg of what appears to be a very promising mini. i agree with ob though - take the highlights up further

For the blue did you ink over the uc or was it straight on with regal blue?

do you also have a recipe for the highlights? pretty please,

hey guys

thanks for the replys. im sorting out the metallic highlights right now, although im gonna leave the blue as it is for now and wait till more of it is done to see whether or not it need to go lighter.

Im more than happy to give ya the blue recipe.
base- regal blue

shadow- its a mix i use on a lot of colours, take some liche purple, scorched brown and a little black ink, then water it down until it looks like coloured water. (it should be a kind of smokey colour)

base- regal blue agen leaving the depths

highlight- make highlights working through mordian blue, ultramrines blue and space wolf grey

there will be more pics in a couple of hours, ive nearly done the leather loin cloth thing

not bad, could use more highlights...also the backpack has mold lines all over it
you could take an xacto knife and scrape them off.

Looking good so far
What colours did you use for the leather?
(I thought I\'d exhausted most of the browns doing the ork pilot! lol)

There are a few untidy spots that\'ll need correcting (Inside of the chest omega and a few specks of metallic on the leather areas) but the highlighting looks pretty spanky and shaping up to be very nice indeedly

hey dan, thanks for pointing those areas out,,ill touch them up asap whilst i continue painting

the leather was a bit of an experminet tbh


i based it in dark flesh, then washed it with the same wash that i mentioned earlier (its in a reply to big nasty shark) its one of those washes that seems to work with everything ;p

i went back with dark flesh and then started adding highlihts by working through darkflesh, snakebite leather and elf flesh

looks awsome dude, wish my champion looked like that, not the same min but the princable is the same how did you paint the armour, i think it looks awsome and would love to give it a whirl on one of my marines

This is looking great I\'m using this as a bit of inspiration for my DA\'s I hit a painting block of how to make em look good, but after seeing this I\'ve got a feel for it. Well done so far really liking it!!!!

I think he looks pretty impressive. The blue is good, the leather is really good and your metallics are fine except from some of the silvery areas where they lack the depth you seem to have achieved on the golden parts. The silvery part that looks the best is the chain, where you have some really good shading - try see if you can hit that on the rest of the silver as well.

I like the forest-y base Will reserve judgement till I see the urban one though
