Calling all Germans (who know about computers)

Hi guys, I\'m hoping you can advise me. I\'m going to be building my new computer at the end of July/start of August and I\'m hoping for some retailer recommendations. I want to buy as much as I can from Arlt because I can go into their bricks\'n\'mortar stores in Mannheim or Heidelberg and get them to test stuff for me before I take it home (v. important for the PSU - don\'t want my shiny new CPU and MB to be fried!). However, they don\'t have all the components I want (particularly the case and HDD I\'m after). For these, I was thinking about buying them from Alternate - are they reputable? The other place I was thinking of buying a case from is Caseking.de - they have the really shiny version of the case I want, with a window and everything. If you have any better suggestions to the places I\'ve mentioned, please could you let me know?

I have only had problems with alternate.

As long as nothing unexpected happens everything is fine, but if something happens that needs attention from human employees your fucked.

They \"forgot\" to send my motherboard back, that I had sent in for testing, so it was lying around there for 10 days.
After I called they promised to send it ASAP. Well, after a week I called again, and found out it got forwarded to the wrong warehouse and they couldn\'t get it back. So they send me a new one.

Then I wanted to withdraw from the order, since something wasn\'t working and I didn\'t want to repeat that process with several parts.
There was a lot of hassle cause they wanted me to pay 30% for a lost processor box. A simple, brown, unlabled box. The support guy promised to inquire about it and send me a mail. Never got that mail.
Called back another week later and was told that I don\'t have to pay anything for that box of course but they thought for some reason my motherboard box was missing and the 30% was meant for that....


I guess you get my point.

H\'mmm. Ok, thanks for your thoughts Sakura. Sounds like they have trouble finding their a**e with both hands....

I think I\'ll still get my OS from them (gonna get Vista 64-bit with the Windows 7 upgrade ticket). In theory there\'s not much they can do to that! lol Perhaps a few case fans too. Will maybe rethink where I get my HDD from - or have a word with the guys in Arlt and see if they can order in what I want.

Edit: Well, I\'ve put in an order for my new OS and a handful of case fans and pretty lights from Alternate. We\'ll see how they manage with that.
