Hola, you all!
Since we finns and swedes live so close to each other, it\'s sad that we meet so rarely, if at all. But I feel that it\'d be interesting for all of us if the painters from both of our countries could meet and chat, share ideas and such. Thus, I\'d like to suggest that you\'d come to visit us in Finland this july, at the Ropecon 2005 event.
Ropecon ( http://www.ropecon.fi/index_en.html ) is probably one of the largest non-commercial RPG/Miniature/card game/LARP cons worldwide, with about 4000 visitors. We have several guests of honor each year (John Kovalic, Erick Wujcik and Emma Wieslander in 2004) and workshops, games and lectures. Several GM\'s will be running hundreds of RPG games during the weekend, there are lots of card game tourneys and naturally several miniature tournaments (a confrontation mini tourney and a huge WFB-tournament, if I remember correctly) as well. Plenty of demo games and what not are available - even few larps. It\'d be nice to show you all swedes what we can do - and meet new people, of course.
In addition, it\'d be really nice if you could come to wipe the floor with us in the largest painting competition in Finland.
The con probably costs 20e for the whole weekend, there\'s a designated sleeping area (if you have your own sleeping bag) and both sauna and showers are provided for free (or at least were last year, will probably be this year as well). A free bus will be travelling from the center of Helsinki to the convention center, which is located about 10km from the city center at the Helsinki University of Technology congress center Dipoli.
No official program can be organized for a finn-swede meeting, but there\'s always room for informal meeting, at least in the bar.
It\'d be nice to see you all there. Naturally, all other nationalities are invited as well, but swedes in particular since you all live so close to us.
BR,
Eino/Day
