My current Digi Cam, freebie untill they need it back at my mother\'s school, is a FD Mavica MVC FD 200. It isn\'t bad, but everytime it takes a picture it turns out pitchblake unless the flash is on. The problem with the flash is it doesn\'t show that I actully layered, blended anything. As you can see below:

So does anyone know what I can do to try and make the camera itself take the picture brighter? I have put lights all around my minis, taken pics outside, and tryed a white back drop but nothing helps.

I dunno If your cam will have it as an option, but try turning up the exposure. My cam was taking pics that were too dark until I got some help and fiddled with that. :)

Yes, flash kills all the details. Never use it :)
Reading the manual helped me a lot with my camera. Oh, and use a strong light sourse.

Does your camera have manual settings, or are they all automatic? Manual settings usually are represented with an icon of a little camera with a capital \"M\" next to it. Under the menu options for manual settings should be some options for low light settings, compensation, etc...if you want, you can email me a photo taken with the flash off, with lots of direct and indirect lighting on the mini and I\'ll analyze it and get back to you...just message me through my account here and we\'ll get you sorted.

Switch to manual mode, turn off the flash, set the diafragma setting to maximum (F8.0 on my camera ,if I remember correctly), and experiment with the exposure time. Usually 1/40 - 1/200 does the job, depending on the amount of light you have.

Thanks alot nelson, I must say 2nd time you have saved my butt :D First time was posting the \"recipe\" for bakeing soda snow. I cranked my exposure all the way up, and then I took a picture of my puppy. It turned out like it is supposed too :D Now to find where that desk lamp of mine went too.

*grumbles about spring cleaning and things of his disappearing*

OH and glad to see you migrating over here :)

Now that my 40K army is done I can start painting for fun again :) painting the same mini around 38 times can get boreing fast, atleast they are a good gameing top table standered. I need to get pics of them some time too :D
