I like Ledger but i don\'t think he can pull off the Joker. Then again Brandon Routh pulled off Superman where i thought he wouldn\'t. We will just have to see. After all if your old school comics like me your almost always disappointed since they vamp the movies up to be more modern.

The Joker in this incarnation is a lot more gritty and less camp than what we are used to the cartoons convey him as a real slit you while you watch mentallst gone the purple suit and some other changes to the character evident in comics too.....so who knows ....I reckon he could carry it off and let\'s be honest he\'ll be better than arnie as the big gay popcicle....and he will be trying to totaally escape the stigma of his last pudding eating major role.

Only Christian Bale movie I haven\'t loved is American Psycho. even that was mediocre - just a little over the top on gore.

I did after watching it about 3 times, but that wasd only due to the remenans of ingrained Media studies...I\'ll never be the same again

Yes it was. And lets not forget American Psycho .The book was better. But Christian Bale played the character perfectly.

Heath Ledger strikes me as too young for the Joker. Jack had that inner cynicism that only comes with experience and really oozed out of the character as with the Joker. Although I really liked the first two films (Tim Burton rocks), Batman Returns was definitely most true to the comics. I just wish they\'d stop Hollywooding the stories (love interests and revealing secret identities in every film!).
