can milliput and superglue resist.... this?

I\'ve received my Gunter \"U-47\" Prien from Andrea - great mini, good metal.
I\'ve washed it, test assembled it, glued it, filled in the gaps with milliput (red) and filed his \"blank cranium\" so that the hat will fit.... now of course the mini is dirty again: metal dust, fingerprints, yuk!
The question is.... can well cured milliput resist a bath with soap? I guess the superglue would, but I\'d like to be sure.
Your experiences? Advices? I have never painted a 90mm, so I\'m a bit nervous!
cheers!!

It should. Milliput and GS are epoxy based putties. The two parts mix and a chemical reaction occurs that creats a new compound.

If you have not mixed well, milliput can be thinned with water.

Yeah, of course - Milliput was originally for boiler repair so it\'s pretty tough.

Good luck!

If you\'re working by brush you might not already have thought of this but use bigger brushes :)

This sounds fun, yes give him a bath, and bigger brushes I wholeheartedly recommend, I did my first 120mm with a size 1 brush:(:D it was painful to say the least

lol size does matter after all ? lol I generally love painting with \"big\" brushes, it gives me some elbow room so to speak - buty I just went to a 2 days masterclass (it was fantastic!) with Jeremy Bonamant-Teboul, and he said my biggest problem was that I load too much paint in the brush - so I guess I have to take \"normal\" (whatever that is) brushes.
for a 90mm, what size serie 7 do you guys use?

Isn\'t this little guy begging to be painted? And he\'s got that james Mason look that I can\'t resist (don\'t tell my husband!
;)).

Granddad!
lucky you, where did you go for the masterclass?

That looks like it will be fun to paint, I think I\'d be looking at a 2 or a 3, at least for the base colors

Paris, France! It was during the week, but it was full - 12 people, including me, had taken the day off from work or school. It was really worth it a thousand time! Not only the guy is a great painter (he brought his award winning minis - oh my GOD! Forget what you see in the pictures, it far far more beautiful) but he is a first class teacher, and that was the extra magic ingredient.
JBT has published a 2dvd set that is in english, french, spanish and german if I remember correctly - it\'s not like being in a masterclass, but it contains so much! (no, I don\'t get 10% off sales :p).
thanks for the info about the brush sizes btw!

yes or 3 sounds better, nice figure by the way, you SOOOOOO lucky going to that masterclass, that will take off three years of head banging on table trying to work out what to do next.
I\'m tempted by those dvd\'s too
Keep us posted on progress

I wouldn\'t paint the bulk of the shading on a 90 by hand... why walk when you can run? :D

But the smallest brush I\'d start with for painting the major transitions on the uniform would be maybe a 3; a lot of my fav brushes don\'t have any print left on their sides any more so I can\'t tell for sure what sizes they are.
