Can one of you French or Euro folks help me out here ...

Hey there,

Found a link to some cool miniatures over in France (I believe) and there are two that I\'m eager to get my hands on. Is there a place online where I can snag one or would someone on that side of the ocean be up to snagging one and sending it to me (I\'ll pay of course)?

OOOOOOOO!!!

That\'s such a nice website! But this post is of no use to you at all cos\' my French is Merde (I know there should be an accent thingy over the E).

Good luck anyway!!:D;)

yeah, I love those minis, but shipping, even to Sweden, is crazy so it\'ll have to wait until next time I go to France. Or until I become a millionaire...

Thanks Green Stuff, I\'ll likely snag two of the male and one of the female if that is the case - lovely miniatures and the dynamic pose of the male elf is just fantastic.

In case you didn\'t know yet, these characters are from a french comic called \'the black moon chronicles\' (or the chronicles of the black moon). Awesome comics for sure and a series I have been followng for the greater part of 15 years now!

Vive la chronique de la lune noir!

(Apart from Dutch translations I even have the set in hardback and in french....)

Ramon (slightly disapointed by a few miniatures in that line.... anatomically-wise)

Nope, didn\'t have a clue about them being comics. Neat.

Yeah, as for the line of miniatures, a majority of them just don\'t \'do it\' for me and I was just perusing the site more or less when I came across those two elves and that made me sit back and go \'whoaa\'.

Think the only other one I liked was the Executioner fellow, and even then, it wasn\'t that great of a sculpt.

That comique is just plain awsome and I think they did a really nice job with the sculpt. If green stuff fails in is mition I think my local stores as those 2 little elfes so I could eventually get you one. And if the store dosn\'t have it and you are prepared to wait I could order it for you :p (long wait though as the post office isn\'t exacly next door :p)

I\'ll try and head to the store tomorrow and see what they have (I\'ll try to get a full list).

The comic has awesome drawings (sometimes double pages european scale (24cmx32cm for one page) with full battle scenes!!!). However, I\'m getting tired of the scenario. It started out as a great D&D spoof, but now is getting very cheesy IMHO. Oh well, the drawings are better and better ;).

There are 11 volumes, and it\'s still continuing. The official site : http://lalunenoire.dargaud.com/html/Album.html . If you click two times (as in 2 different pages) on the covers, you\'ll get an idea of the drawings inside.

By the way...How many issues are there made by now? The dutch translation only go to 10 or 11. (about an issue a year and a half...)

As far as the minis are concerned you are right, especially Pilou and Frey are very cool. Ghorgor is also pretty well done and I must say the priest type of the brotherhood of justics is OK (apart fromhis far too large hands). The rest is OKish IMHO.... Parsifal in particular but a lot of minis are way to bulky and short IMHO. Now if only there was a french company who mixed Rackham\'s style (waaaay to thin often) with this company (ie, too bulky) it would be an instant hit!

The comic is becoming tiresome in it\'s storyline. I mean, how powerful can one get? The comic is now at part 11 and I don\'t know when it will stop (though I seem to recal something with 13... maybe in total 13 parts?). But the artwork in amazing. Pontet rocks!

I can\'t wait to see if they do Helayna the succubus (sp?) right...

me too!

I remember seeing the big ogre fellow somewhere, but I agree about the two sculpts. They look fantastic. I guess I\'d be interested in them as well.

D&D spoof ? If my sources are correct, the Chronicles are the depiction of one of the very first D&D campaigns ever played, since Froideval played at Gary Gygax\'s table. My sources also state he got kicked out for trying to pull the legendary French smooth moves on Gygax\'s daughter lol.

It probably got created that way, but I still think it\'s a spoof ;). By the way, by \"started out\" I meant the first volumes appear to be a spoof to me.

That\'s the french spirit Froideval ;).

@Green Stuff:

Nope, didn\'t have a clue but I\'m still keen to get my hands on them.

Is painting resin more difficult than pewter or does it much matter at all?

I got the stuff ...

... well kind of, they only had one Pile ou Face (the male elf) left (he\'s out of stock for the moment). But the prices are more interesting than on the online site (7€90 instead of 9€10 for each one) and of course I got Feydreiva (the female elf).

The store owner told me he would be getting the new articles on Friday (the Emperor and the Succubus will be part of those (unfortunately the Succubus won\'t be as fancy as she could have been : in armor and no wings :()).

The casts are very clean, bearly a mold line, however, I\'m a bit disappointed by the bases (they should have made them slotta based) ... As for your question Frustrated Father, resin will only change the weight of the minis ;).

I got Wismerhill and the Centurion Impérial for myself; they really have awesome armor.

If it\'s OK with you Frustrated Father, I\'ll be sending you the minis after Saturday.

That sounds fantastic Greenstuff, let me know how much I owe you (I\'ll do one of those conversion thingermajobers from euro to dollars) and I\'ll get it sent off however you want.

Paypal? Cashiers Check? Money Order ... lemme know.

And thanks, thanks a bunch!
