Can you paint over dull cote?

Im inking this base Im working on, and its hard to tell how well the thing looks with all the shiny ink... is it possible to dull cote it, then repaint if it looks like crap still?

The short answer is yes.

Iv touched up over varnish before and iv never had a problem with it. Just remember to revarnish, i can\'t imagine it having as much strength as painting onto non varnished surfaces.

Yes, I do it often. Normally I let it dry at least overnight

Before doing any freehand, I will almost always put a few layers of Dullcote on a figure. It\'s then much easier to clean up mistakes I make with the freehand when it is painted on dullcote.

After you\'ve finished painting on top of the Dullcote, don\'t forget to put another coat or three of Dullcote on the figure.

I use a product similar to dullcote after priming. I picked this up from a Japanese painter over here (you can find his article in called painting my way in the articles section).

Rather than the slight gloss the primer leaves, I get a much more \'clingy\' surface.
