Break out the maple syrup!

Awesome game! Cool crowd, and it was incredibly exciting. I was over at a friends for half the game, and made it back home in a record 30 seconds to choke down dinner and watch the rest.

Ain\'t it nice to have a national sport you\'re good at? *nudge* England *cough* America :D

I think lacrosse is the game you\'re thinking of, which is a game that the natives played. It\'s basically hockey with nets on sticks. It\'s also our other national sport.....

There aren\'t many native players, possibly because of disposable income issues as a result of being screwed over by the gov\'t. There is Jordan Tootoo, who\'s a good inuit player, but he\'s the only one I know of.

Actually, there are native hockey players.
Also there was:

Billy Mills(He achieved a 10,000-meter victory at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo.)

Jess Heart ( A little Wound High School senior who scored 48 points in the semifinals of South Dakota\'s 1999 state basketball tournament. Unfortunately he didn\'t like College, so he quit.)

Jim Thorpe (he was a Native American from the Sac and Fox tribe. He became the first and only person to win both the Pentathlon and Decathlon in the 1912 Olympics; he was the first American to simultaneously play professional baseball and football; and he became the first president of the National Football League.)

Then there are the native hockey players my friends have played in Canada.

Wasn\'t hockey invented by Native North Americans? Why have I never seen a Native hockey player? (Or any other sport for that matter) One more question: why did someone think a Hockey League in the desert was a good idea? Hmm?

:p

Yeehaw. Now we just need to win the Spengler again and get a Gold at the World Juniors and we\'ll hold top spot in every major hockey event for both males and females.

For anyone who\'s a true hockey freak, you might want to check out these boards.

HF Boards

A bit more loosely moderated than CMON and it has boards for any and everything hockey. [/relentless boards whoring]

Yesterday was the final of the World Cup of Hockey. Canada beat Finland 3-2 in the game winning yet another hockey title and won the worst looking trophy in recent history.

Ahh..right...

Sorry. I wasn\'t being fascetious....

Ice hockey gets absolutely no coverage in in the UK. Nor does any sort of hockey actually.....

Soccer and cricket, that\'s about it....:(

oh, yeah and golf....bit of tennis...rugby-but only when we are winning, Formula 1, snooker and darts.

But mainly soccer:flame:

Darts over Hockey? I know where I\'m never moving to...

Yay, we win the World Cup!

Boo, we loose the regular season!

I don\'t know what I\'ll do for fun this winter (usually I watch hockey with roomates). Maybe I\'ll find curling interesting...
