Candles

I have seen Black templar models with candels on them, do these candles come on a sprue or do i have to make them with greenstuff?And if i have to make them will some tell me how?

If they are shown on plastic boxes the boxes will include them. You might steal some candles from the Withchunter minis as well.

If I\'d like to sculpt one I would roll a thin roll of greenstuff. Then let it dry. Chop of a good length, Sculpt the flame and some runny candle wax. You might attatch it to the model first and then let the stearin go onto the model. I guess someone with more skills then me could perhaps explain better.

I think the Witch Hunters have braziers rather than candles, and if you\'re not too keen on making your own, try >>these<< ones from the Dark Elf Cauldron of Blood. They might be a tad too big for your purposes though.

Here is a link to the Crusade Sprue. I don\'t seen any candles on it - just braziers like Modderrhu mentioned. But you are correct, many of the metal models feature candles. I believe they come with those.

I\'m thinking about picking up some of these myself. Pretty cool models if you ask me

BTW: Why is the GW UK site so much better than the US site? I find myself going there for information even though I am in the US ???

candles are fairly easy to sculpt. just mix some putty and roll it with some wire in the middle so you get a tube. chop it to the right size and then just shape the top a little so that it looks as if the wax has melted a little. leave it for half an hour or so. till the putty isn\'t quite dry then mix some more putty. add some long thin drips to the side. for the flame, pinch a blob of putty at the top and roll it a bit. then stick on the top.


done a few of these myself. only trouble i have had is sometimes the flame falls off. maybe leave a small amount of wire sticking out the top to use as an armature?

Have you seen the Canadian site? Its just a front page with links to the US site lol... I almost always use the UK site.

use the UK all the time
It is soo much better
i never go to the OZ site..,Even when i look at the online store!
