Came across this - perhaps some of our UK-dwelling members have already seen this. Now I have an insane craving for candy.....

EDIT: even more here:

This has to be a hoax, right?

oh my gosh!

That is, um, great.

It has to be a joke. When I saw the first one with the lemon and the green thing, I thought it was absurd to assume they were having sex. It just looks like the green thing is getting ready to eat the lemon. Any sexual message is put there by the viewer.

UNTIL I saw the other packages. The green thing licking on the two cherries is hillarious. I mean COME ON! The person who made these pictures was making a statement!

My personal favorite is the one where the green guy has the cherry between his legs and he\'s stroking the stem. NICE.

I\'m gonna have to buy some of these for my wife. It makes me think of that old song, \"I want candy.\"

But...It\'s on the internet...it must be true! :p I\'m inclined to agree with you though. The part that fave it away was... \"we have not had any other complaints. In fact until now the feedback has all been positive.\" There is no way they didn\'t irk atleast one person before this\"

Yes, if you find any it would be great to have some! But, I think Tammy is right about it being a hoax. Being bored here at work, I found the webpage for the company and there is no sign of these. But then it does say it is new packaging, so we\'ll see...

EDIT: It turns out the letter itself (from the school kids) is a hoax, but no mention of the candy being a hoax is made...

I hate to tell you this, but Germany is not actually a part of the UK.

Germany did try and make the UK a part of Germany once upon a time but I think you might need to check your atlas...;)

Always out to get me... lol (just kidding)

The article said something about parents in the UK, so I assumed that since Habiro is in the Uk the candy was from there. Turns out that the company that makes it is indeed German, and owned by said English company.

You are just still upset with me for the \"Sounds Reasonable...\" thread :innocent:

But are they good?

I\'m definitely going to have to purchase some of these if I can. Should I bother eating them, or just keep them for the wrapper?

I can assure you they are quite real, I have eaten several. Never actually thought about that wrapping being suggestive or even offensive though.

Looks like the real wrappers are the ones posted by mickc22, the ones in the link are far more suggestive. Ah well, still good for a laugh!

Those in the link are real, too. Maoam is quite popular here in Germany, like the Haribo Gold Bears. It\'s small blocks of white candy which you can chew your teeth out on.
The thing is, if I hadn\'t read that article the thought that the wrapping might show fruits having sex would have never crossed my mind. But those perverted catholic school kids can\'t probably think about anything else and begin to see it each and everywhere.
