Top of the head and top of outstretched arm would be color 5 values with the stop sign rule that is if it's zenith al light source which it seems that's what your going for. And under the arm would be a 1 ...5 (most highlight) 1 (no light)

Alright bud so if you like the left just go lighter everywhere else....much easier to add the to start reworking shades ....that's how I would tackle in flash lines bad sculpt paint to thick I always look to add Iow what can I do to add to rectify the problem then to have to rework things all over..tell you the truth I love the chest and left side so just think of that you still have to finish the right.right?

yep, according to that BW image it's missing some contrast.
Where I'd put some extra:
- upper part of the chest (where it's already shaded, just add a bit more)
- legs, glaze both to be darker (all parts get to be darker a bit, highlights, midtones, shadows)
- left arm the muscle under the arm to be darker AND if you want some extra, then the other muscles could get a glaze or 2 on their underside.

you could also 'cheat' a bit by making the back and top of the head lighter (current color + white or a greenish-yellow).

color for the glazes: basically what you want, but a dark blue (actually the blue mixed in the green) or a dark reddish brown would looks super. Or if you don't want those colors a dark-green/black-green (WnN green ink / VGC-BlackGreenInk is super for this)

Yup. Tackle that face and see where yo are at. Another way to build focus is to have a lot contrast in one place and that ork face is great for that, lots of ridges and crevices plus those tusks. Keep at it! I have a feeling the dough boys are taking their toll... on your sanity! :)

Thats a very handy dio BAM! thanks for the input guys made some progress and worked out a simplified version of the tatto and have drawn it for some practice will take a pick later. I think thats enough for the time being with the tones, I dont want to go crazy fixing stuff around the tattoo.

They are running mid stride, so they are at a fair angle painted the front side a little darker and back lighter.

I put the paint brush down and played base work last night. I have layed out the general structure and rock formations. Spent time making sure I could get the base to fit the socket also magnatised it. next is a mixture of sand, little twigs, roots, and what ever else I feel like at the time. Sorry for the grainy pics camera dont like taking night time pics. will up date later.
Happy painting :)

Cork it is, if you're not keen on parts being too layery break it up and glue it together in clumps that take your fancy(maybe why it looks different). the SKull will come togther once there is some dirt and debree around Digs, there will be a few more too. I plan on having an arrow through that skull and a few arrows in the front. \

Tattoo
I think it needs to be darker some areas still a little light and some quite a bit darker but what about line thickness?

Thicken up 1 or 2 of the major lines to make the tribal pop more :) Other than that you could glaze it slightly with some of your greens to make it look older or faded :)

The tattoos are looking great Canny.. I'm going to try some black and white photos and see if helps me with highlighting/shadows.
