You guys may remember I posted a clip about weathering from ScaleModelMedic Perfect for this background. Only thing is Im pretty sure the hull of a plane is aluminium?

Nice video, also paint still chips and aluminum can still be heat scarred and scorched, and left in the elements can get very dirty and even sun bleached (sort of a matte salty stained appearance).

Cut some pannel lines and hatch, do you think it needs more pannel lines? I have made them irregular so it looks patched and repaired. Next step is to make a small section of the inside of the plane so there is some interest from the rear. I will fill up the top of the base with some filler and sand maybe a burnt tree later, I want to get the man-made stuff done first as thats new to me in base work.

from the pics I think it needs 1 more left side near the hatch?

looks like a really intresting scene and with some of the inside to arrive this will be an excellent base.

For that world it may add to the story to drill som bullet holes along the fuselage to represent a straffing run or peel back an opening wher the missile entered.

Thanks guys :)

Went MAD last night! cutting and drilling holes and cutting up tin cans, bits of netting, lolly pop sticks and plasticard. Primed ready to attack with rust pigments.

Not planning on a door, I think it too much of a wreck to have one.

KB I like the bullet Hole idea! I might make them fresh once I have painted the rust and stuff.
Just thought now, how bout a line of fire and a scetion 2-3 holes that have gone through the victim and there are a few blood splatters around those bullet holes! Too much? it is a pg game after all hahaha

I cut out more of the inside flooring so you can see the substructer (all my hard work) and made it an arrow shape pointing through the hatch. its not shown in the pics its a recent update. (10mins ago)

Very nive Canny, very atmospheric. On the door well it needs a inner well where the door would sit against or maybe some damage around the area to show it's been removed, then you won't need any reference to where the hinges were.

Very nice work on the base, I love the scene you have going on. Like others, I think a few bullet holes would do very well.

I like the idea of bullet holes in the victim but likewise a little concerned it would be too much. Would it detract from the main figure ?

Wgs I think I will cut a little I beam melt it a little and stick it around the door so people can get a better idea of what it is. Thanks for your eye wgs. I could probably get away with out doing it but I trust ya

Bit o Cape action!
attachment.php

make a template, roll out your green stuff and wait 20 mins so it starts to harden and you dont get finger prints. get some paper clips
attachment.php

use your template to cut out greenstuff, poke your paper clips into the base for the flow of the cape.
attachment.php

with a round ended tool push the cape into the gaps between the paper clips, hold one side if you wnat a stronger curve.
attachment.php

Argg! I have no arm! oh its in the box.

Dont waste your left over greenstuff make pebbles!

Hood to come. I also made the door edge no pic yet.

Happy painting :)
