Can't seem to add images.

I can't seem to add images from my computer to CMON or Photobucket. CMON gives no error message other than when I hit upload image it pauses then a red exclamation point symbol comes up. Photobucket just says something to the effect of simply can't upload image. Any hints?

Sounds like some kind of security thing going on at your PC if there's a red exclamation point. Try restarting machine and clearing cache, and check if you've got a really paranoid antivirus/firewall.

Tried a restart and cache clearing. I couldn't find any setting in AVG that seemed to apply as to firewall settings. I was able to upload with no problem just a few weeks back. Don't remember changing anything between then and now.

Try holding your control key when you click the upload button.

I tried to email a picture to a friend and it didn't make it through. The text goes through but the picture doesn't................??

Try uninstalling AVG, restart, see if the pic uploading thing works, then reinstall AVG. It's highly likely that it's an over aggressive virus scanner.

AV software is an obvious first thought and I have my fingers crossed for you that it's just your AVG - possibly an update changed a setting or something - because if it's not then this might be an aspect of malware or virus infection. Or something in Windows is messed up, which will probably require a reinstall.

When's the last time you installed Windows by the way? Not sure about with Vista or 7 but with XP it was recommended by some sources to reinstall the OS periodically, about once a year (I have a friend who does it roughly every six months).

E'gad's..............re-install........ Luckily I have a techie friend that actually LIKES to do that kind of stuff, for free!! Sounds like that may be the next step.

Yes indeed!

Obviously if you get to the point that a reinstall seems inevitable, it's worth trying a system restore first... although back up your data anyway, just in case it goes horribly wrong (I've had it happen)!

There's always one LOL My friend is exactly that type too.
