The only musical instrument I can play well is the radio so I\'m left to doing air guitar. I had gone to see Joe Satriani and in the middle of the show I was inspired to paint a guy playing guitar. That is the result.

You guys have some pretty impressive pieces of art there. Right now im pretty bad at oil painting. Does anyone have a link to a decent site with some good tips?

Einion! Please! Tell me! Tell me it\'s an edited photo!

Shawn, this is great. Your art has a whole lot of character.

I\'m very much into photo realism, at the moment only with pencil. If I have got a lot of time, perhaps next holidays, I\'ll try to make a large one like Chuck Close or Gerhard Richter. Okay, maybe not really as big... But at least in colour.

Great artwork in here! I\'ll be afraid of posting something...

Nop I\'d love to be able to draw but I can\'t draw to sve my life. I can\'t even draw mickey mouse with instructions on how to do it so I guess I\'m drawing incompatible. That\'s one of the main reason I like minis. I\'v always wanted to do somthing artistique and minis seem to be the only thing I can do, even though not that well.

@cookster - I have used oils and they have their advantages but I almost work exclusively in acrylics due to the drawbacks of oils. The real problem with oils is the phenominal drying time days to a week depending on how thick you paint. When I paint I want to be able to go back and cover over or shape what I did before. With acrylics it is sooooo much easyer. All you have to do is look at a tad of art history to know how fantastic oils can be.......................but now that acrylics are here I like em. There has been (in my opinion) some snobbery about acrylics vs oils. I\'ve seen em both and used em both. The end result is identical. As for longevity, who knows. I wont be around to know or care so I\'ll stick with what works easyest.

Good luck.
