Here\'s my latest creation, Captain Jack Sparrow (1650\'s Buccaneer) by Andrea Miniatures!

Had a blast painting him, got to try out some new weathering techniques. Wish I had time to do more though, he was a Christmas present for a friend and he came in the mail Saturday the 23rd at noon

Anyway I\'ll be happy to answer some questions about him when I get back from Hawaii, the same friend who now owns this model will accompany me on that wickedtastic trip. Hopefully I don\'t get eaten by sharks before I can answer your questions!

You can do the vote thing here. I hope there\'s plenty of comments waiting for me on the 6th when I get back!

God bless, happy new year all! Be safe out there!

There doesn\'t seem to be nearly enough makeup on him for Mr. Sparrow. Also the beard seems way too dark.

Note near red lips, lots of eye shadow.

It\'s a great looking pirate, just doesn\'t look like Cpt. Jack to me.

Excellent! What colors did you use for the sash hanging down from his waist? I\'m getting tired of using bestiel brown to bleached bone. Anyway, you have a lucky friend.

Just did a google image search.

/shrug maybe it\'s not him.

I just saw the mini and thought something didn\'t look right so searched for pics.

Still shows a lot more eyeshadow and the beard is lighter.

Hey, got mini of the week and I wasn\'t even here to enjoy it ;)

Thanks for the comments guys, glad to hear he was well recieved. Martine was very happy to get him too. She knows how much work I put into these things, and the limited timeframe was pretty intense.

I did want to go back and try to get the skin and beard a bit closer to the movie, but I didn\'t have time. The dullcoat changed the tone a lot more than I expected... I hate when that happens :p

I just hope that Andrea does more stuff coincidentally similar to the movie, Elizabeth Swan in the three corner hat would be a blast to do up :D

I think it\'s a great paint job.... I understand the critizisms posted for it not looking exactly like Capt Jack, but that\'s a difficult model to paint and even more difficult to assemble so that it doesn\'t fall apart (the flag, dreads, and goatee are awful). I\'ve done one recently for a client and I\'m starting another for sale. Great job on the clean assembly and paint. One question though.... how did you get the flag to stay on?
