Here goes my version of Captain Lysander...

And several words about it:
Commission work. I know some freehand might be a good thing, and even more can be done to the whole mini... I know, but not this time - I will probably paint Lysdander again anyway - I like the mini so much.

As for the base - he\'s standing next to a pool of some green stuff ;) or an exit of some sewer... Just a reason to add some glow on the bottom of the shield :)

More photos at http://www.chestofcolors.com soon.

Great work Mahon!

He looks good, the base is cool too! Was the yellow as much of a nightmare as I imagine it being,or was it fun? :D I like the purity seals too, good dark colouring on those, cheers :D

I think this is perfect the way it is, I have thought about doing this mini myself but can never seem to get a good solid yellow but yours is fantastic how do you do that?

I painted this mini earlier in the week, and its possibly one of the hardest models i\'ve had to paint (for me anyway) so you seem to have done a sterling job on it, the yellows look so smooth, did you undercoat white? to me the detail was so jumbled and ended up taking ages to sort it all out, the osl is a nice touch too, very good work, been and voted.

Thanks for all the kind comments :)

As for the yellow, I used a 1:1 mix of Yellow Ochre and Sunblast Yellow (vallejo) as the base color.
The closest equivalent in the citadel range would be Vomit Brown + Sunburst Yellow.
Highlights: Ivory (vallejo) - about 1:1 Bleached Bone and Skull White.
Shading: Scorched Brown

As for the primer - yeah, this time I used white, which is pretty unusual for me... It seems to have worked :)
