Captain Lysander

I haven\'t posted a miniature on here yet so I figured now was as good a time as any to start. :)

This guy was originally to be my entry into a \'Power Armour\' painting comp on another forum, unfortunately Lysander wears Termie Armour so he didn\'t qualify.

He is my very first 40k miniature and I\'m pretty happy with how he turned out. I don\'t like many of the 40k minis, but Lysander is pretty cool, and fun to paint... which is always a bonus.

There are heaps more photos on my site, some larger ones too.

Sweet! Anyone who paints THAT much yellow on a fig gets bonus points in my book...I\'ve always detested using yellows. :p Beautiful work on the details too.

I agree, awesome work on those yellows and the face turned out great, as did the shield. My only little complaint (and it is little) is that the head of the hammer looks a bit...plain compaired to the rest of the miniature.

I just noticed the freehand along the cloak, well done and very effective.

Very nice! I like the face, and as the rest the yellows. Some areas are a slightly flat and could use some more contrast, preferably in the dark-ranges. I\'m thinking of the greys mostly. Other than that, very good. 8.5

Like you, I\'m not into the space marines, but this guy has a lot of character. I love the way you brought out the expression of his face.
Yellow is difficult but you\'ve pulled it off.
Some parts like the shield might benefit from some very small really light highlights on the top-facing areas to give it that much more emphasis.
