I wanted to make some action-filled diorama for a long time, so that stegodon was doomed from the beginning. This is, actually, a big experiment, as i tried a lot of new (for me) things here.
The story is quite simple here: a dozen of pirate daredevils prepared an ambush for the gold-carrying stegadon. Those PP pirates was the best choice available, as they have a strong "old GW" feel, so i used them instead of GW minis. The stegadon heavily converted with magic sculp.

i am a bit torn about the smoke from the barrels i have to admit, but my guess is that it looks better IRL.

Well, actually the only problem is that the wool cannot take that macro-mode. I did not thought about that when i tried it, but i needed those smokes there, white, almost shadowless and somewhat transparent. If you imagine all the scene withoun the smoke, you will see that it lost most of it dynamics, turning into men pointing their guns onto the beast.

It's okay I guess. I mean if are into absolutley perfectly painted, wonderfully posed and sculpted dynamic story-telling dioramas....

I usually dislike smoke like this coming out of guns because it always looks unrealistic, no matter how good you are, but I think you done it as good as it can be. The rest ist truly stunning. The scene, the story it tells, the arrangement, the modification of the minis and especially the paintjob is absolutely amazing. How much time did it take to paint all the details? You must have worked on this for years (or you have no friends/wife/family/job etc. and a lot of spare time). I would give it an 11 if I could. A rating of 10 seems to be not enough for this piece of art.

Lovely textures etc and I'm on the fence about the effectiveness of the smoke. However, the lizardman being shot seems to not be reacting to it, it looks like it's a smoke gun. Also, I don't see the point of the guy shooting in the air, total waste of a bullet and time if he needs to reload that thing
