IMHO #1 cartoon of all time: The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show.

#2 - The Simpsons

#3 - Animaniacs
perfect. So what was the kids name who was always with mr peabody?

Anybody remember the Hatfields vs the McCoys from Disney? I\'ve been trying to find a copy but its impossible since it is now to \"violent\" for Disney. And Mighty Casey at the Bat.

Sam the Sheepdog versus that wolf were always my fav looney tunes followed closely by Marty the Martian.

Dauber22:
Strangest \"cartoons\" when I young: SuperCar and Fireball XL5 - \"Live Action\" SCiFi stories done with marionettes
Don\'t you dare \'Dis the superb early works of Gerry Anderson, the man who brought us Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, UFO and then Space 1999. (Don\'t mention Space Precinct. Yech what a dog! :|~ )

Even earlier shows than that I can remember are \"Twizzle\" & \"Torchy, the Battery Boy\".

You Americans are possibly fortunate that you didn\'t get:-
\"Andy Pandy\" (Grief generations of kids called Andrew have hated that show),
\"Tales from the River Bank\" (with Dubbed actors voices over footage of terrified hamsters scurrying round the screen. (Anyone in England ever seen the Outtakes of that with Hamsters doing what rodents do a lot of?))
\"Watch with Mother\", including \"Muffin the Mule\". (No jokes please!)
\"Watch with Mother\" was presented by a woman with a fixed smile, glazed expression and eternally cheerful disposition, that today could only be attributed to ingestion of a serious amount of chemical compounds!

And of course one of the all time classic of childrens television \"Rainbow\" with Zippy, Bungle & George (Anyone seen the \"Adult\" episode;) )

Yup, and that\'s a common theme in stories. I.e. what do you do if you want to mess up a group of male hero\'s: send in a woman. :) In most comics I\'ve seen the woman becomes part of the group in the end like Sassette does.

Anyone remember Willo the Wisp? Man, that was a good show. I still have a self drawn Evil Edna stuck to my fridge door.
The Moog was cool, too.

Back to the smurfs

I didn\'t really watched the cartoon but I used to own the comic strips. If you want their names in french, just go to :

http://www.bdoubliees.com/journalspirou/sfigures6/schtroumpfs/combien.htm

and... Oh ! What ?? There are 105 of them ?? I always believes they were just 100, so they can make their song in the middle of the village !! My life is ruined, I have no more certitudes, haaaaa, life is so cruel .... *sob*

Secret Crocodile
I know I ws a bit too old to watch this, but does anyone know the Dreamstone? One of the songs was sung by Billy Connolly, Frank Bruno and Ozzy Osborne :D

I used to like Rhubarb and Custard, jamie and his magic torch, and although not technically a cartoon, michael Bentines potty time (nothing like little puppet men blowing each other up!).

Ah yes Willo the Wisp. Vintage 1981. We still refer to golden retrievers as Moog\'s due to their oftime resemblance to the brainless animal.

BUT Has anyone seen the THE MAGIC ROUNDABOUT. Now what was the writer of that on? I still find it hard to believe that the narrator of that was Emma Thompson\'s father.

One Radio Programme that has just come to mind and War Griffon will appreciate is \"The Navy Lark\" . Classic BBC radio comedy at it\'s best. Bring back HMS Troutbridge.

They started in France, where they were known as \"Les Stromfs\".. hence the weird beret like caps..

Ok i remember a cartoon but no one else around me seems to remember it the Paw Paw Bears .... Any one else remember them?
Yeah, they came on Cartoon Network a while back, because I belive they were cheap to get and they hadn\'t started making their own shows work (well, except Dexter\'s Labratory.. :p ). A bunch of Native American Bears who were all friends, very Care Bear-esque..

But my most favoritest cartoon in the whole wide world is the one... the only: INVADER ZIM!!!

Argh !!

Les schtroumpfs ! Not \"les strompfs\" !!
And by the way, they\'re from a belgian guy called Roba.

For the beret, well, why would a beret look french ?

And as far as I know, Shtroupfs just exist, we don\'t know where they come from. Their fist appearance is in a \"Johan et Pirlouit\" album called \"la flute à six trous\", where our young heroes have to find these smurfs to help them make one.

And the villain, Gargamel, hunts them because he has a special recipe to turn smurfs into gold.

Zora, be careful there, you are showing your age. Some of those were old when I watched them.
