The nmm is good indeed! There\'s some minor issues, like more highlighting on the upper edge of the arm plate, but overall both the steel and the gold is very well done. I also like the colour on the non-steel armour and the horns look really nice with subtle freehand (though you can\'t see that much of it in these pictures). The hair colour works well with the other colours and contrasts nicely to the skin.

Now for the criticism... The skin could use some more work. There\'s not enough contrast between shadow and highlights, IMO. Also, in places, it looks a bit blotchy and uneven. That could be due to the photo and unwanted \"real\" shadows. But if you have enough contrast in your painting these \"real\" shadows wouldn\'t be so noticeable. Also, the rim of the base look quite messy! You should have smoothed it out before painting.

All in all, though, it\'s a nice looking mini and it\'s nice to see that you\'re doing so well with your nmm and freehand. :)

Wow, you are a really fast painter O.O Followed the WIP and have been waiting to see this finished. It looks great - though in this pics the skin really is looking differently (less shadow) from the pics you showed in the WIP section.
Been there and voted ;)

i like the skin like that. although i do tend to prefer higher contrast. i feel the side of the base lets it down though

Like this one...

a lot, in fact. Commented and voted, but I\'ll say it again here. Another highlight would go quite far in making the figure come alive. Nothing major, mind you, but it seems to be itching for more depth.

I REALLY like the freehand on the horns. I must try that sometime.

Nice! I like the scheme. I think Ritual sums up the critique pretty well. I think the contrast need to be altered by shading it more. shade towards the blacklining as well. The NMM works well.

Seems like you have a very strong lightsource from the right, when you snap the picture. This gives very strong shadows.

thanks for the comments so far ! I\'ll put em to good use on my next mini.

I realise the skin looks abit flat, but that\'s because of the strong light. It has much more depth irl. On the pictures it also comes out lighter because of the strong contrast with the dark armour and hair. I\'ll see if I can get some better pics but I\'m afraid these are the best I got for the moment.

Yes, there is always a problem photographing light and dark colours next to each other as a digital camera has a tendency to wash out details on bright surfaces then.

Hm. I don\'t know if you do it, but try to use the same lighting as when you paint the mini, from the same directions so to speak. Then the picture should do the mini more justice as it is the same lighting condition as when you decided where the highlights should be placed.
