Changing file size and bit rate of MP3 files

Hi

I have a mp3 file that is about 5.6meg that I need to reduce to about half that to use as a ring tone. It is currently ripped at 192kbps. I don\'t have the original cd (the track was sent to me to learn the words lol). Can anyone tell me how I can re-rip this from the MP3 file to a lower bit rate and reduce the size without cutting the length of the file?

Thanks

You\'ll need software to do it.

Media Player is garbage. Dunno about iTunes. I use either some wave editing software that came with my Nero CD Burning stuff or a program called My MP3 Pro by Steinberg, which is brilliant.

If you have the CD with the tune on, you can always re-rip it using Media Player after changing your settings.
