Chaos as a starter army?

Its a good starter army. Easy to paint and no tactics required. When you want to learn tactics move on to elves.

Chaos is a nice starter army. Cheap (as you don\'t need many models), tough, easy to paint... But a bit one-sided strategically. You might try Empire for a more flexible approach, as they have lots of options. On the other hand, they\'ll give you a bit less minis for the same money... your call, I\'d say.

Well, I\'m starting Fantasy and I\'m building Chaos, though I\'m going Daemon-heavy as that\'s what attracted me, so I guess my answer is yes.

Chaos is quite an forgivable army for a newbi, but it should not be labled as a noob-army. Hoards of Chaos combined with Beasts makes for a massive army list and tons of options. It fits tons of playing styles with tons of tactical options.

Lot\'s of options meaning you can experiment a lot...
also makes it more difficult to get balance.

I am chaos through and though and woud recommend them to anyone so I clicked yes..

At the end of the day though the answer is go for an army you like...
Your gonna spend a lot of time efort and money building it.
If you don\'t like em it will make the whole experience suck.

Go for what you like and play accordingly. Screw trends favourites the new army or what other people are winning with jst enjoy the whole thing.

I dont really like the fantasy chaos they always end up beating the crap outta my orks. O well im an idiot. I dont think you should start off with them. Theyre a little hard to paint and the strategy is very melee based without letting you get really ne experience in any of the other fields

Slaanesh is a cool one, its got the best magic in the Chaos Army (according to members of staff in my local GW!!!!) be careful about Daemons in your army though, as if you get ur a$$ kicked they will disappear in a big puff of smoke!!!!!! i made the mistake of making my army general a Daemon when i went up against a Khorne army - after the second turn he disappeared back to the warp! ulp!:cussing::mad::flame::cry:
