Chaos Nurgle Thrud?!

Quite a funny auction on the go here. It\'s a Thrud piece and the seller was initially quite confused by the piece being in a Nurgle box and assumed it was Nurgle. Further down the page, somone has corrected him, but it\'s quite funny to read the guess that the staff (GW) went for on what it might be. LEARN YOUR HISTORY!

As an aside, I saw this piece painted by Sturmhalo. Since then I\'ve seen work from some top-notch artists (in the flesh), and I can truly say that the job Sturmhalo did on Thrud was mind-blowing. It\'s a poor sculpt, yet he made it special. Unfortunately, we can\'t see it in CMoN any more. It was quite amazing though. I\'m talking about being better, like-for-like, than work I\'ve seen by (as a for instance ) Fluffy. And she\'s pretty good as we all know!

Wow this one slayed me:

\"I HAVE JUST BEEN TOLD BY A WARHAMMER STAFF MEMBER THAT THIS ITEM COULD BE EITHER A BEASTMAN OR A CHAOS MINATOR.\"

I was looking for a Thrud figure for years, as I used to love the comic. Not really looking for one anymore though, or else I might have bid on this seeing as very few sellers looking for Thrud would find it.

Do you have any pictures on Sturmhalos stuff? I have just a couple on my computer, he was more than a half decent painter. Very clean stuff.

More than very clean - he was incredible when he turned it on. Saying that though, it was all commission work so he churned out that the 8\'s when he could feasibly be painting the odd 9-er here and there.

I\'ve got nothing of his unfortunately - might have had once but long since gone. The internet turns up naff all either!

I\'m sure he\'s still in Cardiff as I\'ve seen him from a distance, but I think it\'s fair to say we went our own ways a long time ago after living together (with my then GF and another mate). He kept messing us about on a possible move to London, so rather than be faffed about we upped and offed ourselves. Didn\'t speak after that. Understandable really, but it was a choice that needed to be made.

i\'ve got this mini, and all i can say is that he is not exactly screamin\' out for some paint...
what a lump of shite...
i love the comic, and heresy\'s large resin thrud(one day i\'ll stop staring at him, and just buy a bigger brushlol)...

too funny that the seller didn\'t know he had a little gem in his collection...
i\'m suprised the redshirt didn\'t even know enough to offer this guy a fiver, and snatch it up...
it seems like the guys i know that have worked for GW with passion, and knowledge, have always been pushed out, and the morons have reigned supreme...i\'ve seen it in too many countries...

cheers
jah

I remember Sturmhalo\'s Thrud and it was bloody good! It\'s a shame he fecked off really... I always liked his stuff.... he was a local lad to me too at one point - I never met him though.

Trouble is Joe; We\'re getting older and the staff are getting no wiser.
A lot of the \"Blue Shirts\" have only ever been involved in GW games and some have little or no knowledge of their own product line in miniatures, let alone \'other companies\'.
I was recently told by one Blue Shirt that I should enter Golden Deamon with the miniature he was looking at, A Reaper Margara Firetongue I\'d just painted for someone.
He then went on to say he\'d been in the Golden Deamon area last year helping to select miniatures.
Oi Vay, indeed.

I thought he did go to London eventually???

I\'ve been on the same bus as him two or three times in the past year, but never crossed paths properly like. He lives in Canton, Cowbridge Rd West by Zero Plus, the chippie :D

Aye, I\'m his shadow...

I know he moved there and he still gets the bus outside the spot, so the assumption is he\'s still there :D

I miss Sturmhalo too. Those were the days,eh? I don¡¯t know if you old timers remember. But I have friend who had the same personality as Sturmhalo. I always wondered what would happen if those two met. My friend even lurked here for a bit and though Sturmhalo was the smartest person on CMON. Anyway, they did meet in a football chat room. I don¡¯t know if Sturmhalo is into the Scottish leagues, but my friend is a Celtic supporter. Evidently, they got along great.
