Has he been varnished?

He feels kinda soft/dusty/pastel-y, the armour and cloak that is.

Maybe more layers between light and dark with more aggressive highlights.

I do like the way the chainmail is not uniformly highlighted. Some effort and thought went into where to place them.

Simple yet elegant. As Kalidane said, maybe more contrasts.
