Chaplin with jumpack

Hi, Can I get some feed back both on the paintiing and the photography please?
I\'m using a standard point and click intant digi, which has very limited white meter and light source settings. (i.e. you can\'t set white from a source, there are 4 or 5 preset levels, and ditto for light source.)
I\'m using it on manual, close up and timer settings.
My light sorce is the available day light and 1 flouresant \'daylight\' angle poise lamp, positioned close to the camera itself. I find that the lamp flickers, although not perceptabe to the naked eye, it\'s pot luck as to the light level in the pic when the lamp is too close to the camera/subject.
First Pic, Hasn\'t been touched in Gimp, except to resize, used a grey T shirt as a background

the following pis have had the colour balance, brightness/contrast and levels altered.

Thanks for any forth coming feed back

hi, i am not much of a photography expert but these pictures do look very \'grainy\' and don\'t look very clear, unfortunatley i don\'t know how to help solve these problems.

onto the painting, it looks very good, and the blending on the right shoulder pad looks great, well done

Looks really good but I think the camera flash from the front has picked up the tiny imperfections in the model.

I really like it but would have something going on with the thing in his right hand to add more interest. It\'s well done but just a bit too much silver for my taste.

I strongly suspect that with a better photo, this would look very good indeed.

My photography sucks though - I don\'t know how they get such good results :(

oh... and I was hoping for Chaplin with a jet pack...

I played with your first photo in p-shop and came up with this:

Not much improvements. I do see some depth of field issues in some of the other photos. Set your camera to a smaller aperature or a longer exposure time.

Check my sig, there is a link for a light tent. I made my first one from a window sheer and some dowel rods for nothing - there is also a link there to a blue-white background.

Thanks for the feedback so far.
@Squidders: lol now why haven\'t GW thought of that yet.
@air head, aperture and film speed would be cool, but they are not adjustable on my point and click, but yeah, there are definately some depth of field problems, thanks for the effort with the pic, and I\'ll give the light tent thing a go fo sure
