Cheapie silicon shapers - Lidl

I think Lidl\'s occasional items are the same in the UK as in Ireland, just with slightly different dates. So a headsup in case it\'s on now or soon: they\'re offering a whole set of shapers for less than the price of a single Colour Shaper.

Quality is not quite as high as the Royal Sovereign tools as you\'d expect but they look pretty okay so far. They\'d make a great introduction to this kind of tool for anyone looking to try for very little outlay.

Tips are light grey with a glossy finish, reasonably soft and size is about double that of a #2 Colour Shaper - approximately 7mm in diameter.

Might be an obvious question mate, but what are they called in store? \'Shapers\' or do they go by some other name?
Also, where are they likely to be located, (ie which aisle or with what similar products?)
Been looking for something like this and don\'t want to spend an age traipsing round the wrong aisles lol

Their calling it an art set, u get tons of brushes and 5 colour/clay shapers for sculpting for £2! their guaranteed to be crap quality but for that price u cant complain

I don\'t know where the promo stuff is put in your local store lol They should be near all the other art supplies.

Actually both (although in the hobby people tend to use them just for sculpting originally they were intended to be used to push thick paint around on a canvas).

Er, no - that\'s for each set. Still cheap as chips - 40p per tool, doubt we can beat that!

I have someone to buy the brushes for me today. They\'re probably not suitable for miniature work, but I can always use low-quality brushes for terrain stuff or to apply glue etc.

Let\'s hope they\'re still in stock.

just got mine and some brushes too that will replace the crappier pound shop ones. great for terrain! also ended up buying some chalks for £3.99. got all the colours i need for dusts, rusts and smoke and my mum got the rest! everyone\'s a winner!

edit had a look at them. they are very soft and the cone shaped one is rediculously pointy! it\'s a shame it isnt firmer. still pretty good vfm though

I bought two sets yesterday and reshaped another of those cone shaped ones.

Here\'s the result compared to original:

I just cut off the tip and set it on fire (that\'s what I do to most items I don\'t know what else to do with ). Then I quickly damped it and shaped the tip with my fingers.

Surprisingly enough it worked.

I haven\'t tried neither yet but I think that both have their uses so I\'m going to keep the another one as it is.

In general the shapers seem to be good quality for that price.

thanks for the tip-off. southport had none in stock but fortunately my girlfriend was able to pick me up a set in grimsby not tried em yet... but now ive passed my driving theory test (on friday) i can start sculpting again instead of reading!!
