Baltimore GD official ics are up. Yet again another 2 people have been DQd for cheating (What\'s with cheaters in the GD these days, don\'t they learn? And, just to stir up another \"GD controversy\", why is it always a North American event that attracts a cheater? )

Some nice pics. I like that first palce ork in the 40k single, and the Slaanesh greater daemon is excellent, maybe could have been more Slaaneshi colour orientated)

Yes I saw that. I find it amazeing that this sort of thing keeps happening.. It\'s been caught everytime it happens. How people think they can get away with it is stupid, cause they can\'t and wont. This community seems to police itself quite quickly and identify the cheaters.

I hope the penalties are sever.

And actually its happened up in Canada too. (Though thats north America too)

oh ok. What would happen if I enter a mini by another artist, but entered it FOR him under his name? This is just something I am wondering, not planning on doing.

You\'d be breaking the rules. Submissions are supposed to be painted and presented by the artist.

You\'d think so. That\'s what happens in most forms of compatition, GW should do it too.

This, apparently, is the 40k gold squad

Because moral relavency is now the standard. (there is no absolute right or wrong - just whatever you perceive)
Because we are rich and fat and think we can buy whatever we want.
Because we are ugly americans.

Take your pick :p

Not according to the offical GD website. I just checked and the DQ\'d gold entry is not displayed and the silver and bronze winners are listed as such.

It truly is a shame that someone who finds themselves in this position, can\'t get some justice.:(

as for moving them up a place I think the problem may be getting the trophys back.

On a side note I know Mark the guy who took silver in the 40k squad. He stops in our shop from time to time and I know Im pretty pissed he missed gold becuse of a cheater. He\'s a pretty nice guy and does not deserve that.

Yanno... I really wouldn\'t mind if they did the presentation at the event but shipped the trophies after official coverage was up. Then, if a cheater is found, they can just ship the trophies to the correct folks. It would suck that they would have to do something like that, but if it means people get the right trophies...

Right now the online community has been REALLY good at catching these things relatively fast. The cheaters have always been caught; just not in time to take back the trophy.

Hah, here\'s an idea. LIVE COVERAGE. So folks can respond the day of the show, while judging is going on.

Sad thing is that this would be harder to catch. If you see the right name matched to the right entry, but the photograph at the event looks like someone else, the first thought isn\'t \"found a cheater\" but \"hey, that doesn\'t really look like X... they get the wrong photo? Did he cut his hair? Lose weight?\" Etc.
