Check out the new GW skeletons!

I was at my lgs yesterday and saw the GW skeletons.. really nice stuff! But another thing to notice is how much they\'ve improved the plastics... I actually thought it was resin copies at first. The detail-level has increased much in the last year, very evident on these ones.

And they also did some really clever use of gaps and holes to make one shield looking like it was falling apart, and an open mouth where the jaw is actually like it should be, and you can see through the mouth. I don\'t think the pictures does them justice even, just check them out live if you are able to.

They are very nice.

But I have one small problem with them, they have a horn for a musician but no way of blowing it.

Thats the only gripe I have.

yeah.. it\'s the obvious thing. And I think drums are more appropriate anyway. But on the other hand they are skeletons walking with the help of necromantic magic... ;)

They are definitely better looking than the old plastics but somehow I don´t like them. Yes they have a good amount of detail and a little more realistic proportions but there is nothing personal or eyecathing in them.

In addition the feet look horrible. I have always said that plastic skeletons do not work in such a small scale and these are no expection.

Personally think they\'re great and love \'horn guy\'.
However, I painted 20 skellies last year and they near enough drove me round the bend...

Yeah I\'m looking forward to the bloodletters.

I\'m not saying these are perfect, but I\'m becoming more and more convinced of their plastics.

I didn\'t even suspect them of being plastics from the photo I saw on the GW site. That\'s a massive step in the right direction for them!

The only thing that gets me with plastics is picking them up and my brain telling me they should be heavier. I never ge over that.

I liked the old wolves better. I liked what they tried to do with the new wolves, that is, make them look undead, but they missed the mark and made them just look like chaos hounds.

They are very nice.

And yet, a skelleton walking around, with glowing eyes, wreaking havoc in the name of some unholy necromancer, swinging a sword around, is all fine and normal. It always makes me laugh when things like this bother people. lol The one out of a thousand things that are \"wrong\" in any given Fantasy scene. Most people will probably agree it seems odd but how many people would agree a talking skelleton also seems odd? Speech requires breath too...uh, yeah, it\'s just weird what triggers a reaction sometimes.

Maybe they don\'t talk- it\'s all clicks of the jaw and morse code!

Oddly enough, the\"no lips, no lungs\"thing was exactly what vexed me about the pack of Reaper skellies I picked up for a diorama. It\'s some kind of command group and one of them was playing the flute. Imagine that- a skeleton flautist! *snigger*

The Horn\'s an echo chamber for the teeth and Xylophone Rib cage.

my favourite thing about them is they are the right size not like the last lot..and the plastics are a big step up..some of the demon stuff is just mindblowing.
