does anyone have a good recipe for painting black n white checks?

I\'m looking for something to shade them with not just the basic b and w.

or should i just add a light grey to the black and a blue to the white?

That\'s what I did In parts I added some Catachan Green and Shadow Grey to the white. Depends on the mini really - my one is obviously covered in filth and goo, so if you\'ve got a very clean mini it would be better to shade the white with a different colour. I don\'t think I actually highlighted the black very much.
